Western Approach to Infertility Evaluation and Treatment

This presentation will offer an overview of the western medical approach of treating infertility. With a focus on female infertility, Dr Hatch will present up to date common evaluation protocols used by western infertility specialists.Also she will describe common treatment methods prescribed to enhance fertility.An important aspect of this presentation is to enlighten those practitioners interested in an integrative approach about the common practice of western medicine in order to foster professional collaboration among complementary health care practices.

Journey to Fertility

Dr. Shima will share his 30 years of experience using Japanese acupuncture protocols and herbal formulas that he has found clinically successful for addressing infertility.He will discuss the causes of infertility and specific protocols based on gender developed from an accumulation of clinical experience that has successfully helped many patients on their journey towards fertility. Treatment protocols will include extraordinary meridian treatment and herbal formula applications that may be used according to the cycle of female physiology.

Etiology, Differentiation and Treatment of Infertility According to Traditional Chinese Medicine

This course will cover the etiology, differentiation, and treatment of infertility according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.Dr. Liang will present how to prescribe acupuncture, herbal formulas, and dietary modifications for those suffering infertility.Special diagnostic evaluation by facial observation and auricular observation will be presented as well as an understanding the basal body temperature.Dr Liang will share many special acupuncture points and formulas particularly beneficial for the treatment of infertility.

Integrative Approach for Infertility

This lecture will address the integrative approach of eastern and western medicine for the treatment of infertility. The common points and linkage between physiology and pathology of western medicine associated with ovary, uterus, hypothalamus-pituitary-sexual glands and Chinese medicine’s theory of organs, channels (especially extraordinary meridians), as well as essence will be explored. Acupuncture and herbal protocols as well as nutritional approaches for regulating estrogen and progesterone levels, balancing hormone production, improving ovarian function, assisting the development of eggs and embryos, reducing stress, enhancing the responsiveness during IVF (in vitro fertilization) will be discussed. The key points to make IVF more successful (timing of treatment, point selection, the dose of dietary supplements, and technique) will be emphasized.

Wild Goose Qigong to Optimize Fertility

This lecture will introduce the first set of 1,700 years old practice of Dayan Qigong (Wild Goose Qigong) as taught by Grandmaster Yang Mei Jun, the 27th generation heir of this Taoist system.  Originally founded by a Taoist monk named Dao An who studied the lifestyle, biology and movements of the wild goose, this exercise is used for self-healing of the mind and body, to increase immunity, and to promote health and longevity.  Master Hui Liu will teach how to incorporate Dayan Qigong to further enhance fertility and good health. This presentation will offer guided instruction and demonstration of Dayan Qigong best suited for those wishing to promote fertility.

Phasing Treatment for Best Results

Dr. Flaws will discuss the four phases of the menstrual cycle as an imperative aspect of female healthcare in all of gynecology and obstetrics; these phases are the bio-rhythm of female physiology. As such, the clinical implications for correct diagnosis and treatment in view of these four phases are also absolutely integral aspects of all treatment for female infertility. Dr. Flaws will describe the best times for treatment in order to achieve better results and optimize female fertility using traditional Chinese herbal formulas and acupuncture protocols.
